Bianco dell’Arco

Appellation: Bianco del Ticino DOC

Initially produced with Chasselas and Merlot grapes, from 1995 onwards with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot, now with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. A wine with a fresh and lively nose, with notes of citrus, rose and apricot. The palate is very fresh with hints of citrus. It has a good sapidity. This wine can only improve with a period of bottle ageing. Excellent as an aperitif or on appetizers or light pasta dishes.

Variety: 85 % Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Nero

Origin: Boscherina, Lugano. The Chardonnay vineyard is located in the Mendrisiotto area, on calcareous and clayey soil, soil with a high water capacity potential. The vineyard is 20 years old. The Pinot Noir comes from Moncucchetto, the vineyard is 20 years old. East-facing on soil of granite origin, with a high organic matter content. Very draining soils with an average potential water reserve capacity.

Vinifcation: Soft pressing and fermentation in stainless steel barrels for the Pinot Noir and partially for the Chardonnay. 1/3 of the Chardonnay is fermented in barriques and matured there for a period of 5 months. Malic retrogradation takes place completely for the Pinot Noir.
